How to Care for a Stainless-Steel Watch Bracelet
Steel bracelets take the most daily abuse of any part of a watch. A little care keeps them sharp.
Rest the bracelet on something soft
When you take the watch off, let the bracelet drape onto a padded surface rather than coiling on a hard desk. This alone prevents the clasp-to-link scratches that age a bracelet.
Clean with mild soap and water
For water-resistant watches, a soft brush with mild soapy water clears the buildup in links. Dry thoroughly with a microfiber cloth.
Don't over-polish
Polishing removes material. Occasional, light touch-ups preserve brushed lines; aggressive polishing softens the crisp edges that define a bracelet.
Keep finishes separate
When storing, keep bracelets from rubbing against each other. Brushed and polished finishes mark each other easily.
