How to Help Prevent Scratches on Your Watch
Most scratches don't come from accidents. They come from where the watch is set down each night.
Choose a soft landing
The single most effective habit is to never rest your watch directly on a hard surface. A padded cushion absorbs the small contacts that add up to visible wear over time.
Avoid metal-on-metal contact
Don't set your watch beside keys, loose change, or other watches. Brushed and polished finishes are most vulnerable at the lugs and case sides.
Handle the clasp with care
Folding clasps and bracelets scratch easily where they fold. Resting the bracelet on a soft surface keeps the metal from marking itself.
Be realistic
No habit prevents every possible mark — watches are made to be worn. But a gentle resting place meaningfully reduces the everyday wear that ages a timepiece before its time.
